Who we'll feature
McFarms is a directory players (including a lot of younger ones) browse to find somewhere new to play, so every server we feature needs to be somewhere we'd be comfortable sending anyone. Before a slot goes live, we check that the server:
- Is a real, working Minecraft server we can actually connect to — not a redirect, a scam, or vaporware
- Follows Minecraft's Community Standards and is fun for players of all ages — no pornographic, sexually explicit, or otherwise adult content anywhere in its name, branding, store, or Discord
- Doesn't run on real-money gambling, doesn't push malware or phishing links, and doesn't try to trick players (fake "vote" pages, IP grabbers, that sort of thing)
- Isn't built around hate speech, harassment, or anything that violates Mojang's or Discord's own terms
That's it — we're not gatekeeping by genre or server size. Survival, factions, prison, roleplay, anarchy, minigames, whatever you run is welcome as long as it clears the bar above. We reserve the right to decline or pull a placement that stops meeting it, refunding whatever time is left.
How we label paid placement
Featured listings are marked Sponsored and sit in a separately-headed section, clearly outside the ranked list. Outbound
links on paid placements carry rel="sponsored".
This is not negotiable, and it is in your interest as much as ours: undisclosed paid links are treated by Google as a link scheme and can get both sites penalised. Clear labelling keeps the directory trustworthy, which is what makes the placement worth buying in the first place.
Paid placement does not affect organic ranking. The ranked list is ordered by player count regardless of who has bought a slot — and anyone can bump their spot in that ranked list for free by getting players to boink it.
